(CBC News writes) "A fuel tanker carrying nine million litres of diesel fuel has run aground in the Northwest Passage, the Canadian Coast Guard confirmed Thursday.
The tanker, which is owned by Woodward's Oil, ran aground on a sandbar Wednesday southwest of the western Nunavut community of Gjoa Haven.
It was carrying diesel to resupply Gjoa Haven and other remote communities in the region. No diesel is believed to have spilled, coast guard officials told CBC News.s writes)"
