BP took out a full page ad in the Houston Chronicle paper today basically blaming contractors and sweeping the blame away from BP. Kinda funny if you ask me, considering their accident investigation report said the same thing, blaming rig workers for the accident. (if anyone has a screen shot of this ad, please send it over ill post it with credits)
(Quote from the full page ad) "We do know that such tragedies are avoidable. By starting with properly designed wells, by following established procedures and best practices, by conducting relentless inspections, tests and drills, with frequent thorough training of personnel, accidents like this should never happen"This is not the first advertisement BP has taken out, as we all know we have seen a massive tv and print campaign designed to stem the tide of negativeness...
(The Houston Chronicle writes) BP spent nearly $100 million on advertising designed to buff up the company's image and share information about the oil spill in the months following the April 20 explosion of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, lawmakers revealed Wednesday.
The advertising tally - $93,429,175 from April through the end of July - was more than three times what BP spent during the same period in 2009 and averaged more than $5 million a week.
